Over the weekend, while joyriding around the internet, I stumbled across the trailer for Saw V.  It’s only a mini-teaser, but enough of a buzz to get me excited about it hitting the theaters October 24th.

My only, and I do mean only, problem with the fifth installment is that one of the most brilliant horror series in history is starting to cheapen.  Personally, I believe we could have ended things at a trilogy.  Sure, it would have left some questions, but you must admit, it would have been a much stronger finish.  The traps in number four were just not enough after number three.  Jigsaw and Amanda are dead now.  I don’t want someone new carrying on his work!

I will never forget when I begged my youngest son to go with me to the theater for Saw III.  He is not, I repeat:  NOT a horror fan, but I didn’t have anyone else to go with.  I finally wore him down enough that he agreed to go.  All the way from the opening scene until the movie title appeared, we were scrunched down in our seats, jackets over our heads, and I believe a single TEAR rolled out of my eye.  I leaned over and whispered ever so gently:  I’m so sorry I made you come with me, son.

Sadly, I will be at Saw V on opening night…

So, it looks like this upgrade to version 5 was worth it, because now I can blog right from my electronic journal. I’m so excited. The only setback: the upgrade overwrote my entire version 4, which included all my previous entries. Yes, devastating. But these are the knocks you take along the way, I guess. I can’t say I haven’t been through something similar [on several occasions] with my website…because I have. But now, I’ll have a full backup from one to the other…blah, blah, blah.

Anywho, thanks for enduring this little test.

EDIT: I heard from customer support…my journals are NOT lost!!!!!!  HOORAY!!!

I’m happy to report that I’m now the proud owner of my 3rd paint pot in the color “Constructivist”, which is a sort of a dark brown, kind of taupe and slightly silver shimmer. It’s gorgeous! [But then, no one does color like MAC].

I have to say, I was pretty impressed by my friend’s endurance in a makeup store. He waited patiently as I geeked out on products and “talked shop” with my new fave makeup artist, George [who I will be booking an appointment with soon because I’m dying to have him do a look on me].

Next up, we went to Anthropologie. I’ve wanted to visit their store for awhile now [ever since I saw their website], but have to say it wasn’t nearly as exciting as I had hoped. While it is pretty girlie [which I love], it was way too pricey for the type of merchandise they had available. Maybe it just isn’t the right season for me to have gone in, because I do tend to like fall fashions better. I don’t know. There were just too few items I even liked, let alone justifying the cost. But I did get a very, very, VERY cute book from there called “The Goddess Guide” by Gisele Scanlon.

This book is so freaking CUTE! From it’s pink shiny cover adorned in black velvet cutouts to it’s collage-style pages…just adorable. I’ve flipped through a few of the chapters so far and can tell that not ALL the material is for me, but there are so many cool tips and resources in there for the girliest of girls [aka ME].

Ok, back to the shopping trip…we went to Borders, Banana Republic, White House | Black Market, and our last stop: Coach, where he bought his daughter a darling handbag. After stopping in White|Black, I’m now currently obsessed with these shoes:

I can’t even begin to tell you how great the conversation was all day. He and I have such a congruent energy and we make each other laugh…a lot!

It was a very good day.

I’ve been behind the scenes, working away on more videos and other goodies.  I’m not going to bore you with the details, cuz alot of it has to do with MAKEUP! 

I have an upcoming photoshoot with my absolute FAVORITE client.  We are also going to be rockin out a video or two in the near future.  So, be looking for that!

Speaking of videos, I just got permission from an up & coming [is that how you say that?] musician to use one of his songs in one of my pieces…VERY happy about that.  I’ve always loved working with underground and/or new musicians, so I’m going to be on the hunt for more folks to feature the music of in my projects.

As you can tell, I’ve backed off a little from digital scrapbooking, and have turned the spotlight back to video production.  Yes, I know:  it’s very unlike me to jump around like that! *extreme sarcasm*

So, that’s the news for now…big things poppin…

There is much to talk about. I went on quite the digiscrap shopping spree over the weekend in honor of National Scrapbooking Day. There were sales everywhere I turned, all over the net. I managed to keep my spending just over $100, but considering how relatively inexspendy [yes, I just made that word up!] digi kits are, that’s quite the haul. I tried my best to clean out some of my fave designer stores, hoping to put myself in a position to keep up on their designs from here forward [or so I say].

With that said, you KNOW I had to get some new Christina Renee goodies [although, I already own most of her store…but there were a couple new ones I *needed*]. Annie Manning was next on my list: I bought most of the things I was missing from her store. I also bought the limited edition kit she has over at Scrap Artist this month. On a side note - I just found out this weekend that Annie lives about 40 minutes from me!!! Woohoo!!! We hope to have coffee together one day, as time permits. Ok, next up, I grabbed the rest of Jofia Devoe’s store. I can’t WAIT to play with the Diamond Rain!!! Oh, yeah…I bought a pretty big collection from Vera Lim, too.

I think that pretty much covers it. I did buy a very cool Wire Alpha from Weeds & Wildflowers, but nothing else there. By the time I got to their store, I was broke! They will definitely be on my list to stock up on soon.

In other news, I took my baby son to see Ironman this weekend…ummm, it ROCKED!!! But then, I’m sure most everyone else went to see it, too, and know this. Why did I think I could fly for the rest of the day?

Anyways, I have some video projects [aside from my car blogs] on the back burner that I hope to get posted soon. The weather here in Oregon has been lovely, so I’ll be out shooting more. I hope to get a gallery up on my site before long, too. *sigh* So many projects, so little time [away from my day job].

Today, I will work on getting some of my poetry re-posted [from the LAST website crash I experienced - completely self-inflicted], and I’m thinking about updating the look & feel of the site as well. While I still enjoy digital scrapbooking, it’s just not the ONLY thing I want this site to be about, so I’m drumming up a theme that is much more universal for me.
